Because if only they knew the truth about me and what a horrible person I am to her, they wouldn’t like me.”. But while the author was caring for their dying mother in her own home, her.
That was 25 years ago. Sometimes I drive by my old house and I can see the tree towering over the roof, casting beautiful shade for a new family. What we do in life carries on after we're gone. Good morning, friends!Back in June of 2013, I got sick and went to the doctor (coughing up blood, shortness of breath, etc.)I was forced to go to the doctor by my SO and family. They found a few large nodules (not a big deal, they're fairly common). The pulmonigist said it wasn't a factor, and it would soon go away. I was medically cleared by the FAA to continue my flying job for a charter business. Everything was fine and dandy, with the occasional day where I'd have trouble breathing.
I didn't go to the doctor because I didn't want to lose my job. I wasn't worried about it.Fast forward to about a week and a half ago. I had a annual medical (company policy), and the DME (medical examiner) said my breathing sounded funny.
He investigated and discovered i had grown tumors in my lungs. It has spread to my back as well (could be unrelated). So, I put my two weeks in and my last flight is tomorrow. I visited another cancer specialist and he said there wasn't much they could do. He said I had 2 to 3 months. If you don't believe what I'm saying, I'm sorry. But this is the truth. I have no reason to make this stuff up.Today I'm taking friends up in a 172 and we're going to get some lunch wherever we decide to go.I wish I could get to know all of you.

If you're going through a hard time, PM me. I'm very easy going and I'm not judgemental. I left some details out for my privacy.Have a beautiful day!EDIT: I've never touched a cigarette in my entire life. My dad worked with a cancer specialist who helped connect him with top doctors as well as different medication trials that were being done.I'm not sure if the guy still does that type of work (I'd have to get his name from my mom, PM me if you're interested), but one resource that I think really helped extend my father's quality of life was going to the Block Institute in Evanston, IL. This was about 12 years ago, but they offered a 'holistic/complimentary' approach that combined western medicine with other non-traditional methods (such as nutrition, yoga, etc.).Many of those approaches now seem to be incorporated into what western doctors suggest, but there were some things they were working on such as timine chemo with circadian rhythms that may prove additionally beneficial.(Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but figured I'd add my two cents while others were sharing theirs).
